Since our foundation of Meidensha Corporation in 1897, rotary machines (electrical generators, motors, etc.) have been one of our key products. So far, we have many track records at home and abroad. To realize higher efficiency and compact design, we have been working on the related basic technologies such as insulation, loss reduction, and cooling systems. Further, we also have developed a system-based product “next-generation control panel” by making the best use of communication network. In addition, we are now working on the development of a monitoring system for the operation monitoring of rotary machines.
This special issue introduces these technical developments.
