Meidensha Corporation has supplied energy-efficient and environmentally-conscious products and systems. With the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) age, there has been increasing demands for products such as status monitoring using various sensors (information) and ability to work closely with peripheral equipment. As a result, demands for improvements of system reliability and energy efficiency have been increasingly strong. Meanwhile, to attain improvement of product performance and system reliability, it is essential to have the analytical technologies clarifying the product characteristics and the control technologies to realize the required performance.
This special issue introduces the ICT technologies as well as the analytical and control technologies that are the core technologies to realize the required functions.
